Week Nine: March 9-13

 This week our class did a lot of activities to help us visualize the different parts of plants and trees. We went on a nature walk, sorted and graphed different kinds of leaves, experimented with frozen flowers and plants, did some artwork, and learned a song about trees! We continued with our book, which is an adaptation of The Tiny Seed done by Jason Hickey. This week Lucas was Star of the Week. Congratulations, Lucas! Here are some highlights for the week:


  • Our class did circle time and a nature walk outside to prepare for our graphing leaves activity.

  • Our class made our bird feeders using ingredients that we mixed ourselves and a cookie cutter

  • Our class "filled in" the rest of a tree picture by adding leaves, roots, branches and flowers

  • Our class used the sensory tray and water table to practice moving objects back and forth with spoons and tongs, and to look at the process of melting.
